Product information "SOLD! Gibson Les Paul 1959 CC #24 Collectors Choice "Nicky" Charles Daughtry 2015 Early Pro"

When this guitar came to me, I immediately knew: "Better not touch it!" - I probably managed to do that for a month or so. Whenever I had visitors and someone wanted to test the guitar, the moment I took Nicky off the hook I always thought, "This is the best neck ever" And then it happened as it had to happen, I played it and the rest is history.

I remember that one Friday evening, how I couldn't put it down. The clarity and openness, every tone comes to life. This is something I only knew from old guitars. Now the guitar also has the series number 032 and I thought, "if that's not a sign!" (my birthday is February 3rd). At the time, Peter Weihe and I were researching the Les Paul topic at full speed and Peter had just got his Artist Proof #3 The CC#28. Both guitars had similarities and we started testing both guitars with different pickups. At the time I was the SUP lead guitarist in the "Rockalots" of my best friend's classic rock cover band. I started rocking Nicky with my 1972 Super Lead and it was fun as hell. Through regular rocking, the response of the guitar developed even more.

After Udo Pipper tested it, he also got a Nicky, but unfortunately it was a little different. Later I had different Nickies on the table twice and I have to say they were a little different each time. What they all had was this incredible neck shape and tonal beauty.

Right now this guitar is equipped with original 1959 Bumble Bees and a PW II set. It will also be sold with these as in my honest opinion this guitar is as is simply complete. Of course, the original pickups and capacitors will be included in the sale. The original case is also here and will be sold with the guitar.

One of two of the first Collector's Choice guitars to be introduced with a fanatical attention to detail by way of Gibson Custom's True Historic specifications, Collector's Choice #24, 1959 Les Paul #9-1945 aka “Nicky” is as true to the original as one can come without being Charles Daughtry, “Nicky's” proud owner and the generous collector who worked with Gibson Custom side by side to recreate her to near perfection. When we presented Charles with the prototype, he simply replied with “Oh my God….you guys nailed it!”

“Nicky’s” tone is both rich and brilliant with exceptional balance via two Custom Bucker pickups based on analysis of the originals, generously provided to Gibson Custom by Charles. As with all Collector's Choice guitars by Gibson Custom, “Nicky's” details were photographed, digitally scanned and documented by the Engineers and Craftspeople of Gibson Custom, which shows in every nuance of tone, feel and beauty captured in the recreation of this absolutely stunning example of an original 1959 'Burst.
