Peter Green is a legend—hardly any British blues guitarist has influenced subsequent generations of guitarists with such a subtle style as the founder of the original blues lineup of Fleetwood Mac. Gregor Hilden is one of those influenced artists. Since his debut album “Guitar Deluxe” (1994), he has built an extensive catalog of his own recordings. Alongside his original compositions, each of his albums includes at least one adaptation of a Peter Green piece. So it’s high time to present this body of work as a dedicated compilation on CD and double LP!

Unlike most other tribute releases, Hilden never intended to reproduce these pieces note-for-note, but rather to enrich them with his own musical elements: jazzy, rock, and soulful influences blend together, along with acoustic impressions featuring Richie Arndt and atmospheric textures with organist Wolfgang Roggenkamp, as well as many other interesting musicians Hilden has collaborated with over the years.

Here they are—the classics such as “Albatross,” “Man of the World,” “Black Magic Woman,” and “Oh Well” from the Fleetwood Mac era, as well as wonderful later works like “Slabo Day.” The collection also includes lesser-known compositions by Green, which Hilden presents in his own arrangements, perfectly suited to his musical style. Carefully remastered by Pauler Mastering Studio in Northeim, the album becomes a diverse listening experience.

Live performances will feature full Peter Green evenings. Richie Arndt (vocals/guitar) with his band (Tim Zimmermann on drums and Sascha Oeing on bass) will join Gregor Hilden (vocals/guitar) on stage.
