The Sinner & P90 set is the result of countless custom orders of it by players around the world. The first ones to ask for it were our friends from Nik Huber Guitars, who now use this set on many of their great instruments. With growing orders of this combination, we realised it is time to add it as a set to the portfolio. So here you go!
The Sinner Humbucker was developed from my love to 80s hard & heavy rock music: Eddie Van Halen, Adrian Vandenberg (Whitesnake 1987), Eddie Martinez (Robert Palmer's Addicted to love & Simply irresistible), Gary Moore (Wild Fontier) Al di Meola etc.! Back then, I started winding "hot" humbuckers for my Floyd Rose PowerStrat and then testing them at countless gigs on the weekend. The essence of these findings and the desire of many customers and artists such as Kuddel, Dethy Borchardt and Frank Pané for a little more aggressive gain & punch challenged me to include such pickups in my portfolio. After several prototypes, I received an immediate positive response the industry and knew that this is it! A feedback that stuck in my mind is the one Kuddel (Die Toten Hosen) wrote: "These pickups are really fun to play!" From then on, series production was a done deal!
How do I describe the sound of the set? Maybe like this: It has a typical PAF voicing as a basis, but the tone definitely has more punch, more juice and aggressiveness! This bridge pickup packs a punch with its heavy mids, decent bite and hearty growl - There's no better way to describe it that saying "right in the face!" And: sustain, sustain, sustain.
The SB62 is a rock machine, thanks to its powerful earthy mids. Classic, fat, mid driven rock sounds with singing harmonics that can come from wound up vintage amps of the category Marshall Plexi, Fender ´59 Bassman or Vox AC 30. The ´60s P 90 sounds bring back memories of Pete Townsend “Live at Leeds”, Leslie West, Keith Richards, John Lennon, Johnny Thunders – the list just goes on and on! The SB 62 is a great tool for slide playing. What is that saying? Careful, hot and greasy!
including mounting screws, mounting springs and matching capacitors for the tone pots
Note: Potentiometers and capacitors affect your sound very significantly. Most companies ship guitars without measuring these parts, so it's always a "hit and miss" story. Therefore, for best results, we recommend adding our premium DIY / prewired wiring harness kit, which is listed below.
