As some might remember, not long ago we sold Andreas' personal Gibson CC #24 "Nicky". It was a magical guitar and the truth is that we often talked and mentioned it in different occasions.
Therefore, when we were asked a few weeks ago to take in consignment a "Nicky" we were thrilled! Will this "new" one sound the close to our old one? will it feel the same?
Drum roll... It is perhaps even a slightly better guitar. Shocking, but when it comes to tone, we are not joking around. It is full bodied, has a wonderful sustain, delivers that sweet mid range and projects round and open tones while not being too muddy nor too bright.
Add to that the condition and feel of this instrument - It is a full package guitar. All case candy is there, unopened, the guitar is in a great condition, it feels great in the hand and plays effortlessly.
Now for the cherry on top - It has a super low serial number! #015!
So it checks all the boxes - superb tone, superb condition, superb collectibility.
!!!
and the weight.....hehe: 3.9Kg.

One of two of the first Collector's Choice guitars to be introduced with a fanatical attention to detail by way of Gibson Custom's True Historic specifications, Collector's Choice #24, 1959 Les Paul #9-1945 aka “Nicky” is as true to the original as one can come without being Charles Daughtry, “Nicky's” proud owner and the generous collector who worked with Gibson Custom side by side to recreate her to near perfection. When we presented Charles with the prototype, he simply replied with “Oh my God….you guys nailed it!”
“Nicky’s” tone is both rich and brilliant with exceptional balance via two Custom Bucker pickups based on analysis of the originals, generously provided to Gibson Custom by Charles. As with all Collector's Choice guitars by Gibson Custom, “Nicky's” details were photographed, digitally scanned and documented by the Engineers and Craftspeople of Gibson Custom, which shows in every nuance of tone, feel and beauty captured in the recreation of this absolutely stunning example of an original 1959 'Burst.
