Offered here is a rare opportunity: a Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman in stunning Walnut finish, complete with the original Gibson hardshell case. Instruments of this early-90s era—especially in this condition—surface only rarely. This example is all original except for the mounted strap pins (the originals are included in the case).
This guitar is in fantastic, exceptionally well-preserved condition for its age. The finish presents beautifully with only the faintest signs of handling, and the neck remains smooth and flawless. A true collector-grade example that has clearly lived a careful life.
Born from Chet Atkins’ post-Gretsch collaboration with Gibson, the Country Gentleman blends classic archtop aesthetics with modern Gibson engineering:
- Maple body with center block for added sustain and reduced feedback
- Three-piece flame maple neck, ebony fingerboard with red “thumbnail” inlays
- 25.5" scale length – an uncommon and elegant choice for Gibson, improving clarity and feel
- Master Volume & Master Tone, plus individual pickup volume controls in true Country Gentleman style
- Gold hardware, Bigsby B6 vibrato with Chet arm
- 490T / 492R humbuckers delivering a blend of PAF warmth and Gretsch-like articulation
With its comfortable slender-C neck and the wider 1 3/4" nut, this model is perfectly suited for both fingerstyle players and those who favor a bit more room across the fretboard. The pickup pairing provides a unique sonic palette—from clear, Filter'Tron-inspired neck tones to punchy, mid-forward bridge sounds.
The elegant Walnut finish highlights subtle flame on the body’s rims. Only minimal signs of age—light checking here and there—underscore its vintage authenticity without compromising its beauty.
