A Fender Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster Super Heavy Relic that immediately caught our attention at the Fender NAMM 2026 Dealer Event. Among hundreds of guitars on display, this Blackguard Tele effortlessly stood out — one of those rare instruments you simply do not want to put back down.
The Super Heavy Relic work is exceptionally well done and looks authentic in every detail. Every mark, dent, and worn edge adds perfectly to the character of the guitar. The Aged Nocaster Blonde finish suits the instrument beautifully and gives it exactly that raw, honest vintage vibe a great Blackguard should have.
It is equally impressive in the hands: the neck feels absolutely perfect, with that naturally broken-in feel from the very first moment. Resonance, attack, and dynamics all complement the character of the guitar wonderfully, making it an incredibly inspiring instrument to play.
With this uncompromising Blackguard look, we would personally love to install our BC49 pickup set in it — it would suit this Tele perfectly. For now, however, the guitar remains original, allowing the new owner to decide if and how they would like to upgrade it in the future.
