This Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster, masterbuilt by Greg Fessler in 2007 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Custom Shop, is all about maximum fun and outstanding value. It’s a true player’s guitar, designed to deliver both performance and inspiration.
The selected ash body is finished in black with beautiful lacquer checking and features a large ’66-style headstock, giving it a bold, classic look. Modern features make it an absolute joy to play: a two-point tremolo paired with locking tuners ensures buttery-smooth handling and rock-solid tuning stability. The maple neck with rosewood fingerboard sports a comfortable C-shape, a 9.5" radius, and 6105 frets, offering superb modern playability.
Tonally, it goes above and beyond thanks to a pickup upgrade: instead of the originals, it’s now fitted with Kloppmann ST67s, which truly elevate this Strat. From round, bell-like cleans to glassy John Mayer-style tones in the in-between positions, and powerful rock sounds from the bridge, this guitar covers it all with elegance and punch.
The instrument has seen plenty of play and shows light wear on the first frets and on the case, but overall remains in excellent condition. The pickguard was replaced, and it comes with its original Fender Cream Tolex case, a reissued certificate (copy photo from 2007 plus an original certificate dated 2025), and the official Shop Floor Traveller PDF. A perfectly tuned, killer Masterbuilt Strat that delivers more tone, more fun, and more playability than most guitars at any price.
