Product information "Fender Custom Shop ’56 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Masterbuilt Yuriy Shishkov 2016 (commission)"

This Fender Custom Shop ’56 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic was masterbuilt in 2016 by none other than Yuriy Shishkov, one of the most celebrated luthiers at the Custom Shop. Shishkov, who began building guitars in the 1980s in a small workshop in Gomel, Russia, has been part of Fender’s elite Masterbuilt team since 2000. His instruments are known for meticulous craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a soulfulness that sets them apart—and this Strat is a perfect showcase of his artistry.

The alder body wears a refined Faded Green Metallic finish and is paired with a one-piece quartersawn maple neck shaped into the classic 10/56V profile. With a 9.5" radius, bone nut, and 21 medium jumbo frets, this guitar offers a silky-smooth playing experience and responds to every nuance. Weighing in at just 3.29 kg, it’s comfortably lightweight and resonates beautifully.

Tonally, it delivers everything you could hope for in a great ’50s Stratocaster—chimey, dynamic, and full of that unmistakable vintage snap. At the heart of it are three Josefina Campos hand-wound ’50s single-coil pickups, celebrated for their authenticity and clarity. Combined with the five-way switch, volume and tone controls, and a vintage-style tremolo, this guitar is as versatile as it is inspiring.

Its condition is outstanding for a Journeyman Relic. It comes with the original Fender Custom Shop case, certificate of authenticity, and all case candy. A true masterpiece from Yuriy Shishkov—built to be treasured by players and collectors alike.
